Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a field of science that deals with the treatment of pathologies in the soft and hard tissues located in the oral cavity. It involves the diagnosis and surgical treatment of disorders and diseases of all soft tissues in the mouth (tongue, cheeks, lips, salivary glands, etc.), teeth, jaws, and jaw joints. Depending on the procedure and the systemic condition of the patient, surgical interventions are performed under local anesthesia, conscious sedation, or general anesthesia.
